How Summer Reading Works

1. Click here to register for 2017

2. Create a Beanstack account and visit the library to pick up a Badge Book. Each participant in the summer reading program will need to have their own account. 

All children in Kindergarten - 6th Grade will need to have a Badge Book in order to participate in the 2017 Summer Reading Program.

3. If you already have a Beanstack account, log in to view the summer reading program details and update your account information. If you have forgotten your password, click here to help to reset your password.

 Summer Projects

Each week there will be a drop-in volunteer project at the library where children (K-6th grade) can make projects that will help them to earn points towards summer reading prizes! Drop-in any time on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday between 2:30pm - 5:00pm to work on the project and receive a secret code for your learning track.

Week #4: Operation Gratitude

Week #5: Meals on Wheels Placemats

Week #6: Anti-Cruelty Society Animal Toys

Summer Programs

*Reading Buddies (Ages 5-9 Years) -  Mondays from 3:00pm - 5:00pm. Struggling with reading at home and in school? Sign up for a 20 minute session with one of our volunteer Reading Buddies to work on strengthening your literacy skills. You must call or visit the library to register!

*PAWS for Reading (Ages 5-9 Years)- Tuesday, August 1st and August 15th from 7:00pm - 8:00pm Beginning and fluent readers can make friends with well-behaved certified therapy dogs while practicing their reading and public speaking skills. You must call or visit the library to register!

Fill’em Up Fridays (Ages 5-12 Years): Fridays - All Day Come into the library and check out 5 items (books, movies, and or/ music) with your library card to be   entered into a special prize for that week! You will need to show your checkout receipt to the Youth Services Associate to receive an entry.

Makerspace Club (Ages 6 - 13 Years) - Wednesday, July 19th and Wednesday, August 16th from 3:30pm - 4:30pm. This summer, LEGO club will be taking a break as we   embrace our summer reading theme Build a Better World with a special Makerspace Club. Come and make with us!

Family Movie Night (All Ages) - Wednesday, July 12th and Wednesday, August 9th at 6:15pm

Chess Club (Ages 5 - 17 Years) - Friday, Bi-Weekly: See the library calendar for dates Want to learn how to play chess or already and expert? Come to Chess Club to develop your chess skills. All skill levels are welcome! Chess club will be meeting every other Friday starting the week of June 26th.
