The Children’s Department promotes a lifelong interest in library use for children from birth to age eleven. We offer a wide range of current materials and programs.

Below are ongoing children’s programs at the Library. For special activities, pick up a calendar of events that is available in the Children’s Room.

Sundown Story Time

Every Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm children ages 3-8 come to the Library in their pajamas to hear bedtime stories. Sessions resume on January 13. Remember to bring along a stuffed toy. No sign up required.

Weekly Story Time

Our weekly story times are drop- in sessions no sign up required.
The sessions are as followed:
12-24 month olds- Wednesdays at 9:30 am
2 year olds- Thursdays at 9:30 am
3 and 4 year olds- Mondays at 10:30 am or Wednesdays at 3:30 pm
Story Time begins the week of January 12 through March 30.

Chapter Club

This book talk is for those in Kindergartner and First Grades. Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 3:30 pm. Chapter Club will start January 6. Sign is required.

Between the Pages

This book talks is for those in 4th, 5th and 6th grades. Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month at 3:30 pm. The dates for 2009 are: January 12, February 9, March 16, April 13, May 11, June 8, September 14, October 19, November 9 and December 14. Copies of the book are available at the time of sign up.

Mystery Club

This book talk is for those in 2nd and 3rd grades. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month. At 3:30 pm. The dates for 2009 are: January 15,
February 19, March 19, April 16, May 21, June 18, September 17, October 15, November 19 and December 17. Copies of the book are available at the time of sign up.
